Join us in exploring the Sunday Bible readings, fostering learning and community through thought-provoking questions.

What is Bethany?
Geographically, in the Bible Bethany was a small town approximately 2 miles away from Jerusalem. Today it is a Palestinian town of Al-Eizariya (place of Lazarus).

In the gospels, it is described as a place where lived Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Martha. Jesus was friends with them, to the point of raising Lazarus from his grave.

For our purpose, we took “Bethany” as a name of our portal and service because of the angle of relationship between Jesus and the three siblings. Jesus was friends with them, he felt there at home, he was there low-key, relaxed and “after-hours”. It would be great to be able to listen to their conversations and soak in the relaxed style of their discussions…

That is why we suggest the same: relaxed, friendly and non-invasive style of our service: brief introduction into the Sunday readings and some thought-provoking, practical questions to help you to apply the readings to your life.

So, welcome to Bethany! Sit back and relax. The food is coming…
